Leave to the Swedes to get winter right. When it comes to staying warm but still looking amazing, we’re casting our lot with Acne Studios. Their Fall/Winter 2015 collection features judicious use of soft, fluffy shearling, lining moto jackets and lending beautiful texture to cocoon coats. Amongst our top picks are the Velocite moto shearling coat, a hip-length leather topper iconic to the collection.

Tastemaker, photographer and digital powerhouse Marcus Troy is the man behind The Marcus Troy Experience. Troy always looks dapper, whether he’s rocking denim or an elegant suit at New York Fashion Week. And we’re not the only ones that think his style is noteworthy. Earlier this year The New York Times listed Troy as one of the top-five in the next wave of menswear bloggers. It’s easy to see why brands like Nike, Levi’s and Bentley have been itching to collaborate with him. With his natural charm and signature smile, we figured Troy was the best man to sport the latest outerwear styles that have just landed at Saks Fifth Avenue. Winter, we know you’re coming, so bring it on!
I used to cringe at the thought of putting on a pea coat, and puffer jackets once seemed far from pretty. Having spent most of my life in the sunny, arid climes of both Scottsdale and San Diego, my love affair with outerwear didn’t begin until December of 2007, after a move to the Midwest and one of the worst winters Kansas City, Missouri has ever seen. The need to bulk up my winter wardrobe came as quickly as the first ice storm, and I was faced with the devastating option of either freezing my bum off on the way to the shops, or trying to stick out the season wearing my ski jacket (chic enough for the slopes, style-blasphemy on the street).
Five years later, and I’ll be the first to admit my unapologetic obsession with cold-weather-wear, and the fact that I firmly believe a brisk wind can be used as the perfect accessory (hello, “nature’s wind machine”). I now live for these crisp fall mornings when it finally seems like adding a layer (and eventually two or three) seems not only prudent, but a great opportunity to bring some much-needed interest to our quickly fading summer trends.
Seems like it’s about time to start exploring our options for the upcoming season, so I decided to pop into Saks to check out their always on-point selection. Naturally, we snapped a few fun photos for you in the process. Whether you’re adding an anorak to your already-impressive collection, or in need of a new knit-cap for your first winter in NYC (go with Rag & Bone + Moncler, respectively)… Saks has my heart when it comes to a seriously stylish selection, and now this desert-girl is even more ready to be bundled up with the best of ‘em.
